The Real - by Nevertheless |
] |
Hi everyone,
This July 4th, I went with my brother and sister, to watch "Transformers" at the movie theaters. Since the movie disccussed the following topics: fighting for our freedoms, willing to sacrifice one's life for many and saving the world and it's people from destruction, made me think of our own real - life heroes and heroines in the Middle East. My thoughts, prayers, respect/support go to our troops and allies in the Middle East - for your courage and strength. May God be with you today and keep you safe always, as you fight to maintain our freedoms and protect our nation.
On that note, this is also a tribute to our heroic fallen men and women, beginning with the Revolutionary War up through the current war in Iraq. I don't want to ever forget the supreme sacrifces made to gain and maintain our freedom. Freedom is not free, but unfornately, often comes at a great price. Included in my tribute is another hero, Great Uncle Leroy, (nicknamed Uncle Ticky) who fought in WWII, as part of B-17 bomber crew. His plane was shot down in 1944, and he became a POW (Prisoner - of - War) in 1944. Great Uncle Leroy was liberated in 1945, only to die of a heart attack at the age of 38, in 1956, leaving behind his wife, two daughters, siblings, nieces and a nephew. Thanks for reading this and I hope you have safe and happy Independence Day! :-)
